Hungary - Budapest

Budapest resembles other cities. All cities at once. There are buildings resembling Austria, Spain, even Russia. And  often we met some shadows of the Soveiet times - sinister, single-kind multistoried buildings about to fall apart. Nobody restorate them, nobody reconstruct, they're just there and, probably, will end by collapsing. But in disfunctional buildings in the Jew district Erzsebetvaros one can find a line of cozy "ruinpubs". Prices provoke uncontrollable alcohol consumption. The pubs are buzzing with relaxed convivial noise of multinational speech, obedient dogs are waiting for their masters to pick up a girl, someone is swinging in the hammock and everybody is busy doing their own pleasant business.
In Hungary it's necessary to eat goulash and paprikash, and drink lemonade and sider.

At night at the Parliament doves are let to fly. They are circling above the building like small feverish lights.

We got up to Buda Hills, this part of the city's called Buda. Look how beautiful it is and what view of Pesht it gives!

Then we went down to Pest crossing the bridge with lions and spent some time sitting in the square, staring at the passers-by and a wizard with huge soap bubbles.

We lived in a wonderful hostel  Hungaria Guesthouse (Hungaria, 71). It's situated near the railwaystation and metro station. It provides its guests with parking zone, washing machine and nice place for breakfast under the fig tree.

People
The Hungorians are quick-tempered. As soon as we entered the city we witnessed an emotional fight of the drivers. When in a cafe we asked for some more sider the waiter told us not to make him run to and fro all the time, because he had a lot of things to do. The Hungorians are fit and athletic, there are many cyclists. Women are slim and they dye their hair red. Men are sturdy, cute, but try to look virile.

Budapest is so different, I recollect it and it seems I've visited several cities at once. I recon, I'll have to visit it once again to sort everything out!

Hluboká nad Vltavou

Our journey started from the Czech Republic where we rented a car and our unchallenged driver led us to meet adventures! The first town we visited was Hluboká nad Vltavou near the place České Budějovice. The castle of the Czech kings looked new and fresh. There was a park with gigantic trees around the castle. We were also adviced  to visit the town called Pisek, but for Russians it sounds like "Visit the town of peepee!" and we didn't dare to.

Krumlov

We spentthe night in Krumlov, the small  town, pretty as a postcard, full of tourists, where you can meet people from all over the world. I'd recommend you to stay at the pansion Rosa- it's very cozy, clean hotel in the cetre of the city with the cattleshed instead of parking lot, but may be we were out of place coming by car not by horse. But anyway all the pansions in Krumlov are good. Glossy houses, strange sky filling the square with smothering creamy light, crowds of tourists from Asia who were trying to hide their faces from the sun with umbrellas and hats and again - the huge trees that make you feel like an insect in the grass.
